I was entrusted with the mission to speak with the Ghost of Glim Ramshaw. We were to find out the whereabouts of his missing mount, or rather, the whereabouts of the all-too-important scroll.
Having never dealt with the spirits of the netherworld before, I was all too curious about this encounter. Zerod gave me a potion of Speak Dead, stating that it was all that was needed to contact the spirit. We departed soon after.
The travel was unevenful and we managed to recover the dead priest's body with minimal problem. But after drinking the potion, the priest was inresponsive to my questions, his spirit doesn't seem to be there.
the problem was soon solve as we discovered the spirit to be haunting the place of his death. Killing the recent orc inhabitants there in a brutal, grotesque, but efficient manner. Through a series of attempts, I was finally able to summon up enough courage to talk with the ghost. The ghost was extremely incooperative and I was not able to extract more than just a few clues from him on the whereabouts of the horse.
But still... I must say my first encounter with a being of the netherworld have been somewhat fortunate... I remember the twisted bulp of blood that was the remains of an orc by my feet, it was not a pleasant sight and I sure glad it was not me laying there...
... later that night
I was awoken by the sound alarm from my barbarian companion. A single orc strode into our camp, and to our surprise, the orc spoke in orcish demanding his ring back... over and over again...
It didn't take us long to figure out that the orc was possessed by the spirit of Glim Ramshaw. I was able to convince the spirit to give us more time to return his ring without arising its anger... but my barbarian companion was not so lucky as the ghost over heard his boastful remarks and hurled the orc's body at the barbarian, knocking him unconcious...
we decided that it was best to keep as much distance between us and the ghost as possible after seeing more of what he was capable of, so we sped back to town that night without anymore resting...

After several long weeks searching, we were finally able to recover the heavy draft horse that was taken during the caravan raid. Zerog seems to be very content that the horse was recovered.
The horse is special... there's no doubt about it. A strange encounter down in a cavern has led me to believe that the scriptures on the horse are the keys to unlock something greater.
Zarod is currently deciphering the scripts, we'll know the what he makes of it in the morning.

on the way back to Heildregch, we crossed roads with a severely wounded adventurer, we rushed him back to the temple for immediate care. He seems okay for the present.

I had the strangest dream last night. The encounter we had with the statue down at the orcs keep seemed to have relived itself in this nightmare... except this time, the statue did not only look like it was alive, it was alive...
I remembered watching the statue swinging its massive war hammer at me twice... and then complete darkness...
Sometime later, I was awoken by my niece... She looked at me and smiled... I have found my true home...
Is this my true home though? Is this what my church elders meant?
"Heildregch has the answer..."

I'm a bad uncle aren't I Farewien? Not only did I fail to convince my companions to guard that supply caravan journeying to Xaister, but I somehow got my little nephew Phillip III drunk. Aie... how do I explain this to the rest of my family? How?
scribble... scribble
we found the caravans to Xaister burnt down, by the looks of it, an orc party of fairly large size ambused it. I stayed behind with my druid friend to treat the survivor's injuries while the rest of my party went on ahead to investigate.
scribble... scribble
something is wrong... they have been gone way too long... that orc party Laurthen and I encounter was likely just a scouting group, it would be for us to stay here-undermaned and unarmed- we need to join up with the others.

GONE... EVERYTHING... EVERYONE... gone
They are all gone...The censor, Uncle Philip, the family members in the crypt... all gone. However, I was able to find some tracks, and with the help of the local ranger I was able to trace down the two thieves that were responsible for this... That is, if those two's way to taking possesions can be called thieving.
They are constructed... or so I believe, created only for one purpose- to serve their masters. One was stitched together with what seems to be human flesh, and the other was made of clay. I tried every spell in my repetoire to delay/destory them so I can restore the censor... but they seemed to be immune to whatever I launch at them. Hopeless and alone, I tailed the two monsters in hope that they would lead me to their master, and perhaps an answer to all of this
Final page of Rubich's Journal
I'm feeling more and more light headed by the minuite as I tailed the two monstrous beings. I can feel my body starting to act separately from my mind, as if it had a will of its own, whatever is happening to me must be tied to the censor... somehow...
a few paragraphs down
the constructs have stopped in the forest near lumcrox and they have ceased to move. however, whoever enters the forest will get charged violently by the clayed one. I decided to head to Lumcrox and hire some help to take down the two beings.
scribble scribble
all the mercenaries are taken, there are no spare men available save the palace guards, so I decided to speak with the dictator to hire some of his men.
scribble scribble
the page led me down to the cellars and informed me that someone will be seeing to me soon.
the last paragraph seems to be in really, really rough writing. The contents are almost illegible and it would appear Rubich wrote this in a last ditched effort

the journal seemed to have stopped here

"Woke up feeling good today. The travel across the land has been pleasant in this tower and the company isn't half bad. I've been feeling a bit lonely however, so I think I'm going to go get a few of my old companions together and start another adventuring group. Also, it seems like my other friends will be coming to visit me soon at Alabaster, so I am going to go ahead and make preparations ready for their arrival. The good news is we should have plenty of time before they get there. Now, I need to go think of a name for our group ...."
