Lady Aona Birchshire
From Rathe
Lady Aona is the second character played by User:ErjadTheCowSlayer, in the Rathe party,"The Conscripts". She is a druid/wizard, and is replacing Danelion Erion, his necromancer wizard that tragically died. She has been currently retired, and prospects about unretiring her are unlikely. :(

Short Intro
Intro (physical description)-
Lady Aona Eve Birchshire stands at 5’7”. With blue eyes and brown hair, she doesn’t strike anyone as attractive. She cares very little for grooming, giving her an unkempt appearance. She likes wearing green robes (not fantasy armor!), and when out in the wilderness or in a dangerous place, she has a reflective sheen about her. Those who view Aona usually don’t notice her looks first, but rather, look at the two birds perched upon her. They are Aguila and Hibou, an eagle and an owl, respectively, and they always accompany Aona. If you look closer she has many pouches on her belt, holding various spell components, pearls, holly, and mistletoe. Thus, most people who have had the chance to visit Aona usually label her as weird.
Intro (philosophy)-
She loves animals, especially birds, very much, and tries to be friends with them, sometimes even if the sentiment isn’t returned. She comes off as shy, and isn’t into dating, or flirting, or really anything social for that matter. So far, she hasn’t thought about avatars, and has not worried about them. She prefers to not fight anyone, and tries to stop fights with tact and diplomatic guile, but her shy nature usually gets in the way of her words. If pressed to fight, she prefers to fight from afar with her magics, being weak physically. If such cannot happen, she likes to cast protective spells or herself (and her crew) and then turn into a wolf, wherein she closes for the kill.

Her Story (ver 1.0)
Lady Aona Birchshire was born in St. Marie, under the name Sarah Vincent. Once during her childhood (around age 12), she follows a flock of birds into the wintertime forest and gets lost. Several hours later, still lost, and the sun set, she gets attacked and pinned down by a wolf! Almost immediately, that wolf gets attacked by another wolf! However, the wolf did its damage to her, and she went unconcious.
Fortunately, she wakes up near St. Marie. By the time she regained her consciousness, she found herself lying next to a campfire with no words, and she heard something scamper away. She finds a note near her person explaining that little girls should not be wandering in the woods. Also, there was another part to the note, saying that if she wanted to know more about the woods, she should contact Jauffrey.
She “chipmunks” the note, until it gets rediscovered at a later point in her life. Still unsatisfied with village life & still wanting to work with birds, she contacts Jauffrey. She learns from him nature lore, how to survive in the wild, and other things. One day, she inquired, “This knowledge is fine, but why should I know these things if I’m not going to do them?
His response came suddenly, “Are you ready?” Without thinking about it much, she said yes. “Met me back here tomorrow at dusk,” is what she heard from him. And so she did. They went off into the forest, and 5 minutes in, they run into a satyr. Aona stood there in awe, hearing about it but not seeing it until now. Without knowing it, Jauffrey had planned this encounter all along. Without mention of word, the satyr and Jauffrey gave each other a look of confidence. Soon the “test” took an abrupt turn, as the satyr played his pipes. Aona found that she couldn’t stay awake, and soon collapsed!
She woke up (again!) this time to find herself nowhere near St. Marie. Suddenly she woke up to an audience of people in robes! After 5 minutes of almost accusatory chatter, she is approached by Jauffrey (the leader of this grove?), who issued her one task, find St. Marie. She stepped up and accepted, not wanting to know the price of failure.
She passes, but not with flying colors. She got lost once, she used the fey for help, she went starving during the beginning, and want should have been a two day journey for any druid became five. However, she passed, and soon she gets induced into the grove through long rituals. They gave her a different name, Aona Birchshire, and taught her the Druidic language and how to channel the powers of nature.
Once she became a druid, she couldn’t stop enjoying it! She had fun with shapeshifting, Speak with Animals, etc. She tried to get along with the forest, but sometimes the forest get along with her. However she does manage to befriend a male eagle during this time. She named it Aguila, and still accompanies her. During this time her appearance changed becoming more ragged and a little feral, and she never once went back to St. Marie. (To this day, no one in the village has recognized her.)
Life as a druid would satisfy most anyone, but not Aona. It was nice, for about 2 years, but she couldn’t cope with it anymore. Essentially, her abnormally high intellect made her grow bored with the life. She turned away from her druidic heritage when she met a (relatively high level) human wizard in the most awkward fashion ever in St. Marie. She soon took apprenticeship under his wing.
Soon she was learning arcana. During the time, she accepted mercenary work in Cest, with a good portion of the profits goes toward arcane magics and her apprenticeship. During this time (of about 4 years), she grew knowledgeable, shy, wealthy, and “homesick”. She also got another companion during this time, an owl familiar, Hibou. Hibou has been known to scuffle with Aguila from time to time.
At this point, she sorta feels bad for leaving her druidic past and just wants an excuse to go back into the forest. (without being ganked by these bandits that she keeps hearing about.)
Her Death
Lady Aona has not died yet.
(and hopefully won't die anytime soon in her NPC-goodness.)
Naming Guide
- Aguila, Aona's eagle, comes from águila, which is spanish for eagle.
- Likewise, Hibou, Aona's owl, is french for owl.
- Her horse, Linquist III, has the same first name as Danelion's two former horses.
- The name Aona came from the shorthand writing of "Amulet of Natural Armor".
- Birchshire came from the want of having a "nature-urbanish" name.
Trivia
- Erjad like to call Aona and her birds "The Air Force". He claims that the birds are aircraft, and Aona is an aircraft carrier that fires homing missiles.
