Background

Ages old, dragons are said to have existed even before the Sundering. Still inhabiting the crater-sea of Rathe are dragons of the bronze variety, making their homes on unsettled coasts or further inland in wooded lakes.

Iskopossveargith, named so because of his birth under a meteor shower, enjoyed both sky and sea in his playful childhood under loving parents, exploring and meeting new creatures along the way. As he grew older, Iskoposs became more interested in the civilization that grew with him--that of the humans that began to settle upon the bays and seaward flatlands in his parents' territory. One type of occurrence that he found particularly scintillating among humans was the way they resolved their most important conflicts: brute force. Iskoposs enjoyed the way they would march out in perfectly organized groups only to pound the living daylights out of each other, so much so that one day he simply disguised himself and joined a mercenary company in its defense of the local capitol.

That mercenary company, operating under the name Hecaton, was led by Minn "Miss E." Estuario, a farmer's daughter with a tenacious personality and a vicious left hook. Needless to say, with such character at its head, Hecaton gained quite the reputation as a group that could face highly unfavorable odds and still get the job finished.

In relentless pursuit of pirates employed by a neighboring faction, Minn hoped to drive her targets west towards the coast and corner them at a nearby shore-side cliff. But upon finally achieving said goal, a loud roar was heard coming from the crater-sea, followed by one titanic plume of water falling on the entire beachhead. Soon countless giant tentacles were everywhere, snuffing out all light from the sky and life from Hecaton's hapless combatants.

Minn awoke to a dream, it seemed. A ghost of that fateful battle stood at her side. It looked like one of the newer recruits, draped in that kraken's body parts. All else seemed to be awash in total, inescapable darkness--or at least the darkness of a large seaside lair. The darkness did not have a sinister air to it; rather, it was cloistering, enshrouding, comforting. Minn found the ghost to be quite real, actually; he served her real food, he gave her real presents, and his touch--more real than reality itself. Yet Minn never stopped believing that her savior took on an aura of something greater, something godlike, almost, but not quite there...

But by the time she figured it out, the truth was already hitting Minn over the head with a hammer--or rather, over the womb with a hammer. Riding shotgun was her second-in-command, Nuinehar, a stoic elf, reportedly the only survivor of Hecaton's last stand, in this moment "stoically" acting as midwife as she gave life to a wonderfully ugly baby under a meteor shower while traveling on the forest path to Aevon. Minn's gaze froze in a joyful, bewildered, relieved, delirious expression at her creation upon dying from blood loss.

Aevon--a stronghold atop the trees. Its community had kept track of the endeavors one of its favorite and most promising fighters it has seen. As a result, Nuinehar essentially returned to Aevon a hero. He was granted a high position in the ruling council of the citadel. As for his dragon-descended charge, a rich life of elven frivolity awaited.

But it would not be the life for him.

Description

Physical Description

A tall, gaunt figure wearing a thick commuter coat and a large, wide-brimmed hat stands before you. You can't quite make out the person?s face because much of it is covered in a brown scarf, almost like the way many bandits cover their faces with handkerchiefs. Many odd protrusions come out of the jacket, including its arms and legs (you're pretty sure it has two of each), but it?s all a jumble of "this here, and that there."

Taking off the hat, scarf, and jacket stands before you an extraordinary sight. This half-dragon also wears black breeches over well-worn winter boots, and the silvery-white gleam of a mithral shirt over a dark red cloth gi covers the brownish-yellow scales flecked with green on his upper body. Webbed frills can be seen between the brutal clawed fingers on his hands as well as on the back of his head and neck. Speaking of his back, it's "adorned" with a veritable armory fastened with heavy leather belts. His face can be best described as "spiky," with small, dark horns crowning each contour, very much a condensed version of the visages of his lineage. His eyes, slit pupils set in piercing green irises, gaze at you, seemingly searching for or expecting something.

Opinions

Ankhiseth does not look highly upon religion as a whole, mainly because it did not give him any sense of belonging in his younger days. He finds himself easier through meditation and introspection. Ankhiseth has come to respect the amount of energy that humans put into living life. He looks upon the elven race with both gratitude and distrust; those years of isolation did not pass without leaving some sort of mark upon his psyche. Ankhiseth has yet to see enough of other societies to form strong opinions on them.

Reputation

Rumors about a masked traveler sitting in the corners of taverns and doing absolutely nothing else have been sparse and sometimes confused with stories of Wanderers. Other select people have been perplexed by the phenomenon of lightning bolts traveling in odd directions on clear days.

Goals and Objectives

Ankhiseth wants to know more about the dragon supposedly involved in the attack. He is preparing himself, both mentally and physically, to confront whoever he or she is. In the back of his mind, Ankhiseth knows that in this situation, the worst may come to pass.
